Young Researchers' Confce held at DU

A day-long 'Young Researchers Conference' titled "Bangladesh: Politics, Geopolitics and Environment" was held in the department's conference room at the initiative of Dhaka University Political Science Department on Tuesday .
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal addressed the conference as the chief guest.
The chairperson of the Department of Political Science Professor Dr. Professor Dr. Tasnim Arefa Siddiqui chaired the closing ceremony. Muhammad Sohrab Hossain, Professor Dr. Sabbir Ahmed and other departmental teachers and young researchers were present.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal said, the young generation should be research minded and create and disseminate new knowledge through research. The results of research should be used for the welfare of common people.
Describing research as the main work of the university, he said there is no substitute for research to build a developed society and prosperous Bangladesh. Pointing out that Dhaka University is under consideration to establish an independent research institute soon to conduct quality research activities and encourage researchers, the Vice-Chancellor said that policy formulation work is underway.
