Young generation inspired by Bangabandhu's ideals can build developed Bangladesh: Prof Arefin Siddique

Bangladesh University of Health Sciences (BUHS) held a Doa Mahfil and discussion meeting to commemorate the 48th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day.

President of Bangabandhu Parishad and former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Dr. A.M.S. Arefin Siddique was present as Chief Guest.

University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. President of Bangladesh Diabetic Association and President of BUHS Board of Trustees National Professor AK Azad Khan, Treasurer Professor Sheikh Md also spoke in the meeting with Faridul Alam in the chair.

Akhtar Ahmad, Dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences Professor Dr. Begum Dean of Public Health Faculty of BUHS Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain and Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Sharmin Parveen spoke and the head of reproductive and child health department Dr. Begum Roshan Ara gave the welcome address on the occasion.

The programme was presented by the proctor of the university. Nasreen Nahar.

Professor Arefin Siddique said, "Even if the anti-independence forces brutally killed the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in his family to stop the progress of the country, he will remain immortal in the hearts of people. Only the young generation inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu can build a developed Bangladesh”.

The teachers, students, officials and employees of the university were present in the discussion meeting and prayer programme.
