World Digestive Health Day: Awareness to keep the digestive system healthy

World Digestive Health Day' or 'World Digestive Health Day' 2023. The digestive system is a very important part of the human body. Apart from intestine, liver, pancreas, gall bladder, gallbladder are very important parts of this systemWorld Gastroenterology Organization has declared May 29 as 'World Digestive Health Day' or 'World Digestive Health Day' every year to make the general public aware about various diseases of this part of the body. Since 2004, the day has been celebrated all over the world.

> Digestion:

The physical process by which complex food is digested or broken down into small simple particles suitable for absorption is called digestion.

Food can be absorbed in the body in two ways, mechanical process and chemical process.

_ Mechanical Process: Food is chewed in the oral cavity with the help of teeth. First, chewing breaks food into small pieces. Between the stomach and intestines, these pieces of food material become pulp.

_ Chemical reactions: Chemical processes are the second step in digestion. Enzymes in the digestive juices help speed up the chemical reaction of food. It breaks down the complex components of food into simple components acceptable to the body.

> Parts of Digestive System:

1) Oral cavity and tongue,

2) Pharynx,

3) Esophagus,

4) Stomach,

5) small intestine,

6) Colon,

7) Besides salivary glands, liver, pancreas, gall bladder and intestinal glands and part of digestive system.

> Purpose:

a) Providing energy for various body functions,

b) To increase the body,

c) to compensate for permanent damages,

d) Aid in reproduction and milk production.

> Functions of digestive system:

1) Food intake,

2) Food digestion,

3) Secretion of various digestive juices,

4) Absorption of water, vitamins, mineral salts and digested food,

5) Excretion of unneeded food particles as faeces,

6) Balance of body water, glucose, acid base.

7) Indirectly helps in blood production.

> Causes digestive problems

Most people like to eat piquant. Such people pay more attention to taste rather than digestion and eat more for taste which is not right and later they regret it. Specific Causes of Digestive Disorders

_Eat more food.

Eat more fatty foods.

_Sitting in one place for hours.

_Don't sleep on time.

_ Excessive sleep.

_Not doing physical work.

Drinking very little water.

_ Tobacco, alcohol, cigarette consumption.

When we do not pay attention to our health and eat whatever comes to our mind, our digestive system gradually starts to deteriorate and we start to have some problems like

_ started to get angry.

_Indigestion begins.

_ Diarrhea and other stomach problems start.

> Home remedies to strengthen digestive system:-

_ Eat apples

Eating apples is very beneficial for the digestive system. Apart from digestion, eating apples provides many other benefits to the body. So there is a saying - "Eat an apple a day and keep the doctor away".

_ Eat ginger and lemon

If your digestive system is very weak, gargle lemon juice with a small piece of ginger and suck it, it will be very beneficial for the digestive system.

Eat too much salad

Eating salad is actually very beneficial. And people love to eat it, so salad is definitely made at a feast or wedding. Eating salad keeps our digestive system healthy.

_ Drink fennel

Consuming fennel prevents gas problems. If you have acidity problem then you should take one spoon of fennel every day. Fennel relieves heartburn and aids digestion.

_ Eat bananas

Bananas taste delicious. But its benefits are also unmatched. Banana increases our digestive power and also helps in digestion of food.

_ Eat papaya

Vitamin C is not accumulated in our body due to weakness of stomach intestine, then you can get vitamin C by eating papaya. It contains papain which cleaves proteins. Raw papaya is very good for health. It makes food digestible and strengthens the digestive system.

_ Eat cardamom

Eating cardamom is considered very good for digestion. Eating cardamom is very beneficial especially for pregnant women. It removes all the digestive problems of pregnant women. Can also eat with tea.

_ Use amla

Eating Amla removes vitamin C deficiency in our body. Consuming it regularly does not damage our digestive system. Amla can be ground and mixed with black pepper, hing and cumin.

Finally, this day was started to raise awareness about the treatment, prevention, spread and diagnosis of various diseases of the stomach or digestive system. All over the world, such initiatives are taken to make people aware of various diseases related to digestion.

Therefore, we want to prevent the use of antibiotics everywhere for a healthy digestive system.
