
Workshop on addressing , preventing health risks due to climate change held in Sandwip

A workshop on addressing and preventing health risks due to climate change was held in Sandwip at conference room of Haramiya 20-bed hospital under the BRAC Health Program at 11 am on Monday.
The workshop was inaugurated by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Manas Biswas. Dental Sergeant Dr. Zahidul Mawla and Community Mobilizer and Journalist Badal Roy Swadhin of the CCR Project run in partnership with SDI and Coast Foundation spoke as guest speakers.
At the beginning , BRAC Health Project Program Officer Monir Uddin presented the goals and objectives of the project through a multimedia projector. Then, TLCA Md. Russell of Sandwip Upazila Health Department discussed the activities of the project in detail.
Speakers gave various directional speeches on increasing public awareness to combat health risks due to climate change, making healthcare easily accessible, preserving the environment and developing health-friendly habits.
Speakers said that the adverse effects of climate change have had a direct impact on public health. In this context, it is very important to increase public awareness to combat health risks, ensure easily accessible healthcare, preserve the environment and develop a healthy lifestyle.
