Wife killed for not getting dowry money in Sherpur

A bigoted husband killed his wife without getting dowry money at Sherpur in Bogura.
It is learnt that Sanjida alias Sabina, daughter of Haque of Chhonka village of Bhavanipur union of the upazila, got married to Sohag, son of Abdus Salam of Chomarpathalia village of Sughat union, 6 years ago. After the marriage, Sohag and his family used to beat Sabina for dowry money and even tortured her to collect her drug money.
At one point, Sohag and his family members brutally beat Sabina around 10:30 am on Monday, April 24, for dowry of Tk 1 lakh. When Sabina was seriously injured, her husband's family admitted her to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical Hospital for treatment.
He died at 4 pm on Friday, April 28, while undergoing treatment there. In this incident, father Azizul Haque filed a written complaint at Sherpur police station.
Later, it was alleged that Bakul, a member of Ward No. 4 of Bhavanipur Union illegally settled dispute. Many people say that Bakul member arrange all kinds of unethical activities including rape in this area with unethical benefits.
When I wanted to talk to UP Member Bakul on the mobile phone about these issues, he hung up saying he would talk to me later.
In this regard, OC of Sherpur police station, Ataur Rahman Khondokar said, the body of the housewife has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.
