After the resignation of Sheikh Hasina government in the face of anti-discrimination movement, as the Thana police still did not join the work, the residents of Rupganj of Narayanganj have increased extreme insecurity due to the fear of robbers.
In order to deal with this situation, Rupganj Upazila BNP has taken the initiative of meeting and exchanging opinions with the leaders of all parties through the upazila administration. Rupganj upazila executive officer Ahsan Mahmud Russell presided over the all-party meeting at the upazila hall on Friday (August 9) morning.
Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Simon Sarkar, BNP central executive committee member Bir Muktijoddha and former BGMEA president Kazi Moniruzzaman Monir, central BNP executive member and owner of Gauchia Corporation Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiya Dipu, district BNP general secretary Golam Farooq Khokon, Rupganj were present. Upazila BNP President Advocate Mahfuzur Rahman Humayun Akand, General Secretary Bashir Uddin Bachchu, District Volunteer Dal President Mahbubur Rahman, Rupganj Upazila BNP Vice President Anwar Chatad Sayem, Ashraful Haque Ripon, Jamaat Islami Narayanganj District Legal Affairs President Advocate Israfil Hossain, Islami Andolan Rupganj Upazila Branch President Imdadullah Hashemi, Rupganj Thana Youth Dal Leader Abu Mohammad Masum. Also present were journalists, imams and khatibs, teacher leaders, leaders of Hindu Buddhist Unity Parishad, president and general secretary of Hefazete Islam upazila branch, representatives of students who participated in the anti-discrimination movement, presidents and general secretaries of all police stations and union levels attended.
At that time, BNP central executive committee member Mostafizur Rahman Bhuiya Dipu said, "I have received information and advice on law and order from various unions in Rupganj." I have worked to create a peaceful environment since the beginning. But an armed group of Chhatra League vandalized two places in the middle of the night in the name of joy. None of them belong to BNP. A group of tappers and drug addicts are involved in these misdeeds by identifying themselves as BNP people. Catch them and hand them over to the law. Build resistance by organizing like students.
Member of the central executive committee of BNP, heroic freedom fighter Kazi Moniruzzaman Monir said, to dampen the spirit and self-sacrifice of the students, anyone who commits anarchy in the name of BNP should be arrested and handed over to the law. We all of Rupganj want to have a peaceful coexistence.
Ahsan Mahmud Russell, Executive Officer of Rupganj Upazila, said that there is currently an army patrol with the cooperation of all political leaders for the safety of people's lives and property. All kinds of security will be maintained when the police return to their work from today. The list of those who attacked and looted. Legal action will be taken. I am working to suppress drugs and youth gangs. Success will come if political leaders cooperate.
