Victory Day celebrated in Bhola

Victory Day 2024 was celebrated in Bhola with various arrangements including hoisting the national flag and paying homage at the Martyr Memorial.

The formalities of the day began with 31 gunshots at the Martyr Memorial opposite the Deputy Commissioner's office on Monday morning as the sun rose.

On the occasion of the day, Deputy Commissioner Azad Jahan paid floral tributes to the Martyr Freedom Fighter Memorial Plaque installed in front of the Bhola Deputy Commissioner's office in the morning. Bhola District Police, District Freedom Fighters' Association, Bhola Press Club, Bhola District BNP, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Bhola branch. In addition, officials and employees of government and private offices and various social, cultural and voluntary organizations of the district paid tributes. On the other hand, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami organized Quran recitation and prayers for the souls of the martyrs.

A victory rally started from the Bhola District Commissioner's office at 10:30 am and circled the important roads of the city before ending in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Deputy Commissioner Azad Jahan inaugurated the victory fair on the occasion. Present at the time were Bhola District Police Superintendent Shariful Haque, Bhola District BNP Convener Alhaj Golam Nabi Alamgir, Bhola District BNP Member Secretary Raisul Islam, District BNP Joint Convener Shafiur Rahman Kiron, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Bhola District Ameer Master Zakir Hossain, Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) General Secretary Amirul Islam Ratan and various political leaders.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of the great Victory Day, a day-long Victory Fair, a painting competition on the Liberation War, reception of the brave freedom fighters, war-wounded brave freedom fighters and families of martyred brave freedom fighters, a documentary exhibition based on the Liberation War, a friendly football competition, prize distribution, serving quality food to all hospitals, prisons, old age homes, orphanages, schools for the mentally handicapped, children's families and boys/girls in the district and cultural programs have been organized.

In addition, prayers have been organized in all mosques and temples to pray for the forgiveness of the departed souls of the martyred freedom fighters, the good health of the brave freedom fighters and war-wounded freedom fighters and the peace and prosperity of the nation.

Free film screenings on the Liberation War for students, and arrangements have been made to keep children's parks and museums of government and non-government autonomous organizations open to the public without tickets.
