Victory Day celebrated in Bamna

The great Victory Day was celebrated with due dignity in Bamna Upazila of Barguna on Tuesday at sunrise.
The Upazila administration, Bangladesh Police, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Press Club, Fire Service, Ansar and VDP, including people from different classes and professions, paid tribute to the immortal martyrs of independence by placing wreaths at the memorial monument adjacent to the Shaheed Minar.
Bamna Upazila Parishad Administrator and Upazila Executive Officer Md. Palash Ahmed and Police Station OC Md. Abdullah Al Mamun hoisted the national flag. Later, they delivered a welcome speech to the people of Bamna.
Students from various educational institutions of Bamna Upazila paraded at the parade ground at Syed Rahmat Ali Stadium. Part-time freedom fighter former commander Hossain Al Selim, Bamna Upazila BNP convener Engineer Abul Kalam Azad Rana, Jamaat Islami Ameer Maulana Saidur Rahman, Islamic Movement President Alhaj Abdus Sobhan Khan, Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Mahmul Hasib, Health Officer Moniruzzaman, Agriculture Officer Farzana Tasmin, Begum Faizunnesa Women's Degree College Principal Md. Habibur Rahman, Bamna Press Club President Abu Naser Siddique Golam Kibria, General Secretary Nizam Uddin Mollah, government officials and employees of various government departments, journalists and teachers and students were present at the event.
Besides , Bamna Upazila administration organized various day-long programs including a reception for freedom fighters, a Victory Fair, a children's painting competition and sports events on the occasion of the great Victory Day.
