Staff Correspondent
Lalmonirhat District Administration Executive Magistrate Taapsee Tabassum Urmi, who lost her job after posting a controversial post on Facebook about Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, said, 'I am not a Hippocrate. It can be said from anywhere against the opposing forces of the Liberation War. If I lose my job because of this, I have no problem.
Taapsee Tabassum Urmi said this in a private television response after she made the OSD.
Earlier on Saturday, Taapsee Tabassum Urmi wrote on her Facebook, "The chief adviser of the constitutionally baseless interim government said that the reset button has been pushed. The past is erased. He deleted all the past history of the country by clicking the reset button. so simple the countdown has begun for you, sir.'
After the post spread on social media, a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday made Taapsee Tabassum Urmi, Executive Magistrate of Lalmonirhat District Administration, OSD. The government suspended her on Monday.
In response to this incident, Urmi said, "If I was not in the administration, I would have said the same thing... I cannot be an anti-liberation force." It is not possible. Whenever the government comes, two types of contradictory words will be spoken, one will speak for the Liberation War, the other will speak against the Liberation War, I will yes yes, this is hypocrisy. It is hypocrisy to agree on two contradictory opinions.
Urmi said that if I see someone who wants to erase the liberation war, I will speak against him.
When asked how she made such a comment from a responsible place, she said, "When I see any threat coming to my country, it is my responsibility to say whatever I should say to save the country." I say frankly, I don't want any anti-liberation force to come to my country. I treated those whom I thought were anti-liberation forces and posted them as such.
Criticizing the chief adviser's 'reset button push', Urmi said, what does it mean to push the reset button? What does erasing the past mean? Our liberation war is settled fact. Father of our nation Bangabandhu. These are all settled facts. What does it mean to erase all the past by pushing the reset button? So I think, the opposition to the liberation war is now in the government.
He said, I thought from a responsible place, I have to save my country. That's why I have said as much as I can. If I were not at this stage, I would have given the same post. I am speaking as a citizen of Bangladesh and a force in favor of the liberation war. I am not speaking for any party.
Urmi said, Bangladesh stands on 3 million martyrs. Our country became independent in exchange of 3 million martyrs. If you push the reset button, will the 3 million martyrs come back? Consciousness selling, 'genocide' are all subject to investigation. They are not proven. But what is settled truth, no one can erase it.
Meanwhile, after getting OSD, Taapsee Tabassum Urmi's post is no longer visible on her wall. In this regard, Urmi said, the post has been kept only by me.
