Habiganj district in the fifth phase union council election was hekd peacefully in 21 unions of Chunarughat and Madhabpur upazilas on Wednesday.

Elected are: Mohammad Ali, Independent Candidate of Gazipur Union No. 1, Zakir Hossain Palash, Independent Candidate of No. 2 Ahmedabad Union, Md. Muhitur Rahman Rumon Faraji, Independent Candidate of No. 3 Deorgachh Union, Independent candidate Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury in Chunarughat Sadar Union, Ubahata Union No. 6 Independent candidate Ejaz Thakur Chowdhury in 7th Satiajuri Union The candidate for the boat symbol is Abdurur Rahman Abdal, of 9th Ranigaon Union Candidate for the boat symbol Mostafizur Rahman Ripon, No. 10 Mirashi Manik Sarkar is the candidate for the boat symbol in the union.

In this election 48 chairman candidates contested in 10 unions of the upazila. The total number of voters in this upazila is 2 lakh 8 thousand 94 people.
