
UNO distributes tins, cash to fire victims in Mirsarai
Mirsarai (Chittagong) Correspondent.
Corrugated tin and cash assistance have been distributed among the families affected by the fire in Mithanala Union in Mirsarai, Chittagong.
On Sunday morning, corrugated tin and cash allocated by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief were distributed at the upazila premises by the upazila administration.
UNO Somaiya Akhter, Upazila Assistant Commissioner Bhumi Ala Uddin Quader, Agriculture Officer Pratap Chandra Roy, Social Service Officer Sabrina Rahman Lina, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mohammad Ismail, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Zakirul Farid, Upazila LGED Engineer Didarul Alam, Upazila Public Health Assistant Engineer Rafat Ibne Morshed, Upazila Cooperative Officer Dibakar Roy, Palli Sanchay Bank Officer Sakhawat Hossain, Upazila officers and employees were present as the chief guests at the event.
Among the 11 families affected by the fire, each family was provided with 2 bundles of corrugated tin and 6,000 taka in cash.
In her speech as the chief guest, Somaiya Akhter said that the fire incident took place in Mithanala Union of the upazila on October 9. The upazila administration was able to provide assistance in a short time. “The upazila administration is always by the side of the people during disasters.
Meanwhile, the affected families expressed gratitude for receiving government assistance and expressed hope for the speedy reconstruction of their homes.
