A 24-member Youth Parliamentarians’ delegation of the renowned international youth platform Youth Parliament visited Bangladesh National Parliament to inspire the youth towards parliamentary democracy on Thursday .

With the permission of the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, youths from different constituencies of Bangladesh observed the National Parliament Library, Assembly Session Room, Crescent Lake, South Plaza and various lobbies. A huge collection of almost all newspapers from 1974 to present in the library enthralls the youth of the Youth Parliament.

The first handwritten constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was shown to young representatives in this historical library.

The parliament official guide very earnestly showed the delegation around the whole parliament after entering the parliament session room. The officials of the National Parliament Secretariat answered various questions of the youth about Parliamentary democracy and parliament session room.

President of Youth Parliament and Queen Elizabeth’s Commonwealth Young Leader (QCT) Mr. Sarker Tanvir Ahmed said, "Lewis I Kahn's extraordinary construction style has given Bangladesh Parliament a special distinction from other modern buildings in the world.

Our long-term hope is that one day the Youth Parliament will be organized in the session room of Bangladesh Parliament to inspire our youths. Today's visit will be an inspiration to the younger generation.''

Meanwhile, the Youth Parliament President handed over the book "7th March Speech: Known Unknown Information" written by Mamatazul Ferdous Jowardar to the visiting wing of the National Assembly and the Library. Photographs were taken by the authorities at the South Plaza to commemorate the visit of Youth Parliament representatives to the National Parliament.

After the visiting Captain of Bangladesh National Wheelchair Cricket Team Mohammad Mohsin handed over the crest to the Youth Delegates.
