Members of Border Guard Bangladesh 58 Battalion rescued two teenage girls while being trafficked to India through Jibannagar border in Chuadanga. At that time, the trafficker Shariful Islam was arrested.

They were rescued and arrested from Jadavpur village of the upazila's border union at around 3:30 pm on Tuesday. This information was given in a press release sent by the BGB at night.

The two rescued teenage girls live in Dhaka. The BGB said that they will be handed over to their families through an organization. The arrested Shariful is the son of Maluk Chand Mandal of Pepulbaria village of Swaruppur union of Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah district.

In a press release, the BGB said that through secret information, the BGB came to know that two teenage girls who were being trafficked to India had taken shelter in a house in Jadavpur village. With this news, two patrol teams from Benipur and Kusumpur BOPs arrived there and rescued the two minor girls.

After questioning them, it was revealed that when they screamed during the trafficking, the traffickers left them and fled. Later, the BGB patrol team came to know that a local commoner named Shariful was arresting and beating a broker of the trafficking gang.

Upon receiving such news, the Benipur BOP patrol team rescued him and took him into BGB custody. The arrested broker, Md. Shariful Islam, was identified by two teenage girls. It was learned from the villagers that the main mastermind of the trafficking gang is a resident of Jadavpur village named Sattar.

The BGB further said that a case has been filed against the arrested Shariful and the absconding Sattar at Jibannagar Police Station. The rescued two will be handed over to their families through an organization.
