Two killed as bus rams autorickshaw in Ctg

Two people were killed when a bus rammed an autorickshaw at Hathazari upazila in Chattogram district on Saturday afternoon.
The accident took place around 12.30 on the Hathazari-Najirhat highway at Mirzapur Moigyar area under the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Motaleb Titu, 70, a resident of Mohochnapara area under ward No. 2 of Farhadabad union, and Md Absar, 55, of Moniapukurpar area under Dhalai union of the upazila.
According to locals and police a bus (Khagrachhari-Jha-04 0020) with passengers was heading towards Chattogram from Fatikchhari. On the way, when it reached Mirzapur Moigyar area, the bus rammed a CNG-run autorickshaw from opposite direction, leaving two passengers of the autorickshaw dead on the spot.
Nazirhat Highway Police Station in-charge Mafiz Uddin Bhuiyan said the bodies of the deceased were recovered from the spot and sent to a hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police have also seized the both vehicles from the scene, however, the drivers and helpers of the vehicles managed to flee the scene, added the police official.
