Two helpers killed after another truck crashed into standing one in Rajbari

Two helpers of both the trucks were killed when another truck rammed the fruit truck standing at Kalukhali in Rajbari.
The accident took place on Saturday at around 6 o'clock in the morning at a place called Kalibari in Kalukhali Fire Service area of Rajbari-Kushtia regional highway.
The deceased are Md Liton Hossain (35) son of Felu Hossain of Khajanagar village of Kushtia district and Anichur (35) son of Ansar of Charghat village of Rajshahi district.
According to local sources, the Fire Service of the Rajbari-Kushtia Regional Highway was working on the side of the road due to the breakdown of a fruit bearing standing on the side of the highway at a place called Kalibari.
Around 6 am today, a truck full of empty fruit baskets going to Kushtia from Rajbari was trying to overtake the broken down truck and when it hit the standing truck from behind, the helper of the moving truck, Anisur, was seriously injured with the truck and died on the spot. Md. Liton Hossain, the helper of the Dhaka truck, was seriously injured while standing and the locals rescued him and admitted him to the Kalukhali Upazila Health Complex. Later, the doctor on duty referred him to Kushtia Medical College Hospital for better treatment, where he died.
Haroon-ur-Rashid, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pangsha Highway Police Station, said helpers of both the trucks were killed when a broken-down truck was overtaking and hit another truck from behind. The drivers of both the trucks are absconding. Efforts are on to nab them. Further legal proceedings are pending in this regard.
