Two factions of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement clash at central office, 7 injured

At least seven members of the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement were injured in a clash between two groups at the organization’s central office in the capital’s Banglamotor.
The incident took place around 4:30 pm on Tuesday.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Imran Sarkar from East West University; Jannatul Mim, Abrar, Al Amin, and Afsar Uddin from Tejgaon College; Asif from Kabi Nazrul Islam College; and Masud from Demra Boro Madrasah.
They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.
Confirming the matter, Inspector Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police outpost, said, “Several students were brought to the Emergency Department from Banglamotor with injuries. All of them are currently undergoing treatment.”
Speaking to the media, Al Amin, one of the injured, said, “During a coordination meeting in the Jatrabari zone on Monday (January 20), one of our fellow activists was attacked in the presence of the coordinators. When we came to the central office today to discuss the matter, we were attacked again.”
