Two drug dealers arrested with 3,800 pieces of Yaba in Kaliganj

Police arrested two top drug dealers with 3,800 pieces of Yaba in Kaliganj, Gazipur on Thursday night.
Based on a secret tip-off about drug sales, Kaliganj Police Station OC Md. Alauddin led by SI Md. Ibrahim Sheikh, SI Apurba Kumar Bain, ASI Swapan Kumar Pal, ASI Humayun Kabir and Constable Payel Hasan Abir conducted a raid in Tekpara village of Moktarpur. While trying to escape, Ariful Islam (35), son of Ali Newaz of that village, and Arif Sheikh (32), son of the deceased Shamsuddin of Dhanpur village, were arrested. Later, after searching Ariful Islam's body, 3,800 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from the travel bag hanging on his shoulder.
A case (No. 12) was filed against the two arrested on Thursday night under the Narcotics Control Act of 2018.
Kaliganj Police Station OC Md. Alauddin said that the arrested people had been buying and selling illegal drugs, Yaba tablets, in different areas of Kaliganj Police Station for a long time. The arrested people were sent to Gazipur court on Friday afternoon. Our campaign against drugs will continue.
