Two Chhatra Dal activists killed in Brahmanbaria road accident

Two activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal were killed in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Brahmanbaria on Thursday evening.

The accident occurred around evening on April 23 in Narui area on the Brahmanbaria-Nabinagar road.

The deceased were identified as Md Rabbi, 32, son of Rafiq Mia of Shyamgram in Nabinagar upazila, and Mahim Khandaker, 26, son of Mobarak Hossain of Srirampur.

Three others, including Chhatra Dal leader Yeasin Arafat Rimon, were injured in the crash. They are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. The bodies of the deceased have been kept at the district Sadar Hospital morgue.

According to youths who took the victims to the hospital, the two motorcycles collided head-on in front of Narui Bridge. All five riders were thrown off their bikes. Locals rushed them to the district Sadar hospital.

Samir Chakraborty, Member Secretary of district Chhatra Dal, confirmed the incident. He rushed to the hospital after hearing the news and said both deceased were dedicated activists of Chhatra Dal.

Dr Md Sifat, on duty at the emergency department of 250-bed Brahmanbaria General Hospital, said two of the victims were brought dead. The injured have been admitted for treatment.
