Two arrested, fake licenses, guns recovered in Pirgachha

Police have arrested two people in Pirgachha, Rangpur, along with 5 rounds of bullets and a single-barrel 12-bore gun. During this, 49 fake weapons licenses and a large amount of fake documents were also seized from them.
Pirgachha Police Station OC Nur Alam Siddiqui confirmed the matter on Wednesday afternoon.
The arrested are Al-Amin (30), son of Sekender Ali of Khordd Mahdipur area of Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur, and Rezakul Islam Tuhin (45), son of Nasim Uddin Master of Shankarpur area.
Police said that on July 9, during the verification of weapons and ammunition at the Pirgachha branch of Jamuna Bank, an error was found in the weapons license held by private security guard Al-Amin. An immediate raid led by SI Shafiqul Islam Akand resulted in the seizure of a single-barrel 12-bore gun, 5 rounds of bullets and a fake license from his custody.
Later, a letter was sent to the Panchagarh District Commissioner to verify the authenticity of the license. He verified and informed in writing that the license was not issued or renewed from their office.
In this context, the Pirgachha Police Station arrested Al-Amin from Mithapukur Police Station area on Tuesday afternoon.
Later, based on his information, the main mastermind of the license supplying ring, Rezakul Islam Tuhin, was arrested from the Rangpur Central Bus Terminal area with 49 fake weapon licenses and documents.
The police believe that the ring had been illegally supplying weapons by making fake licenses and forged documents for a long time.
OC Noor Alam Siddiqui said, during the initial interrogation, information was found about the involvement of about 51 illegal weapons against the arrested.
Regular cases have been filed against them under the Arms and Forgery Act. At the same time, the investigation and operation are ongoing.
