Training workshop on fire safety, disaster management organised by Dalia WDB

A comprehensive training and awareness workshop on fire safety, drowning prevention, high-rise rescue techniques, earthquake response, and immediate actions during various emergencies was held in Dimla under the initiative of the Dalia Water Development Board.
The workshop was held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the conference room of the Water Development Board. The session was conducted by key trainers from the Hatibandha Fire Service of Lalmonirhat district, including Warehouse Inspector Syed Md. Imran, Firefighter Shahidul Islam, Firefighter Anarul Islam, and Firefighter Shyamal Chandra Roy.
Inspector Md. Imran delivered an in-depth discussion on fire-extinguishing methods, rescue operations, and the overall importance of disaster preparedness for officials and employees of the Water Development Board.
He stated, “During a fire or natural disaster, the very first reaction of a person can often prevent major losses. Therefore, proper training and awareness are extremely essential.”
During the practical demonstration session, fire service members showcased the operation of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation methods, and the use of ropes and safety belts.
The workshop was attended by Assistant Engineer Md. Sohel Rana, Sub-Assistant Engineer Md. Maidul Islam, Md. Masud Rana, Work Assistant Bakul Chandra Biswas, Jakir Hossain, Aiyub Hossain, along with officers and staff members from various units of the Water Development Board.
Officials of the Board remarked that field-level work often involves numerous risks. Regular training of this nature will significantly enhance awareness and skill among the workforce.
At the end of the session, further discussions were held on the operation of fire extinguishers, rescue techniques, and immediate emergency responses.
