Trading begins with gains at Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges

The week’s second trading session began on a positive note at both the Dhaka and Chattogram stock exchanges, with all major indices advancing and the majority of listed company shares seeing price increases on Monday.At the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the benchmark index DSEX rose by 15 points during the first half of trading on the day.Among the other indices, the Shariah-based DSES gained 4 points, while the DS30 index, which comprises blue-chip companies, climbed 10 points.A majority of the companies witnessed upward movement in share prices. Of the issues traded, 203 advanced, 117 declined, and 76 remained unchanged.Within the first two hours, the DSE's turnover surpassed Tk 250 crore.
Similar to Dhaka, trading on the Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE) also began with gains.
The overall index of the CSE increased by 38 points.Out of 111 participating companies, 61 registered price gains, 32 declined, and 18 remained unchanged.During the first half of the session, shares and units worth over Tk 2.40 crore were traded on the CSE.
