Touhid-Jaishankar Meeting: Discussion on issues of mutual interest

Interim government’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain held a meeting with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
During the meeting, they discussed issues of mutual interest between Dhaka and Delhi.
The meeting took place on Monday (23 September) in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.
Bangladesh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared the information in a post on its social media platform, X (formerly Twitter) On Tuesday.
The post mentioned that Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain met with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar during the UN General Assembly session. They discussed matters of mutual concern.
It is noteworthy that on 5 August, the Sheikh Hasina government fell, and since then, tensions have existed in the relationship between Bangladesh and India. This meeting marks the first high-level interaction between the two nations since the formation of the interim government on 8 August.
