Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced on Saturday that the men’s national team’s across-format away series against Afghanistan in July have been rescheduled.
Afghanistan Cricket Board was expected to host Bangladesh for two Tests along with three ODIs and three T20Is following the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
“The away series against Afghanistan will be rescheduled after both boards agreed to play the series at some other points of time,” BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed the development to the Daily Sun on Saturday.
Bangladesh were expected to play 12 Tests in 2024 along with other white-ball assignments, but now will be featuring in eight Tests after they earlier rescheduled a two-match Test series against Zimbabwe that was scheduled in May and decided to play only five T20Is.
However, Tigers will still have a busy 2024 considering after the T20 World Cup they will travel to Pakistan to play a two-match Test series and in the following month will travel to India to play a series comprising two Tests along with three T20Is.
Bangladesh will host South Africa for a two-match Test series in October. Then, they will travel to West Indies to play two Tests along with three ODIs and three T20Is between November-December.
