
Three fishermen detained for fishing in sanctuary area of Sundarbans

Three fishermen have been arrested by the Forest Separtment for alleged fishing in the sanctuary of West Sundarbans.
They were detained from the Mandarbariya Paradise Center in the Behela canal area under Satkhiraranj in West Sundarbans on Wednesday.
The detainees were Md Mostak, son of Ayub Ali of Chakbara village of Gabura in the upazila, Khalil Ghazi, son of Fulshah Gazi of Sora village, and Shafiqul Islam, son of deceased Atiar Rahman Gazi of Dumuria village.
At that time, a dinghy boat, four leaked nets, four water drums, three da, ax one, seat one and graphy four were seized.
Burigawalini Station Officer Ziaur Rahman said that members of the Smat Team led by OC Shiben Majumder of Kalagachia Towl outpost arrested them from Mandarbariya Aaraniya Center in Behela Canal area during the patrol.
He also said that the fishermen were sent to the wise court.
