Three-Day National Fruit Fair Begins in Nakla

A three-day National Fruit Fair-2025 has started in Nakla upazila of Sherpur on Thursday. The program organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) under the slogan "Eat more local fruits, let’s plant fruit trees."

The fair was officially inaugurated at the premises of the Nakla Upazila Agriculture Office by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Dip Jon Mitra as the chief guest.

After the opening, a short discussion was held on the topic "Local Fruits in Health, Nutrition, and Commercialization: Current Context, Challenges, and Opportunities." Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Shahriar Morsalin Mehedi presided over the program.

Additional Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Tabassum Maqbula Disha, Agriculture Extension Officer Agriculturist Sagor Chandra Dey and others spoke.

Officials from the agriculture department and other officials of different departments, leaders of the Nakla Press Club, local journalists of different media, farmers and respected community members were present.

According to the Upazila Agriculture Officer, the fair will continue until Saturday, June 21. It will remain open to the public every day from 10 a.m. to evening. Visitors can buy chemical-free as safe local fruits at the fair. They learn about modern fruit farming methods directly from farmers and agricultural experts.
