Three brothers of Tangail's Siddiqui family will participate in the 12th National Assembly elections.
They are the elder brother Abdul Latif Siddiqui, former minister who was expelled from Awami League, Abdul Quader Siddiqui, president of Krishak Sramik Janata League and younger brother Murad Siddiqui.
Quader Siddiqui has submitted nomination papers from his party to the office of Assistant Returning Officer of Constituency Tangail-8 (Basail-Sakhipur). Anupam Shajahan Joy received Awami League's nomination for this seat on Wednesday.
Besides, he has also taken nomination papers for Tangail-3 (Ghatail) seat. Dr. Awami League has been nominated for this seat. Kamrul Hasan Khan. Former Awami League Member of Parliament Amanur Rahman Khan Rana will be elected as an independent candidate in this seat.
Abdul Latif Siddiqui, the elder brother of Quader Siddiqui, expelled from Awami League, will submit his nomination as an independent candidate in his constituency Tangail-4 (Kalihati) on the last day. Awami League has nominated Mojaherul Islam Talukdar Thandu for this seat.
The younger brother Murad Siddiqui did not seek the nomination of Awami League this time Later he took separate nomination papers from Tangail-4 (Kalihati) and Tangail-5 (Sadar) constituencies. Murad's supporters believe that he can be a candidate from Sadar seat in the end. Jubo League central leader Mamunur Rashid has been nominated by Awami League for this seat.
