There will be no traffic congestion on highways: Quader
Staff Correspondent
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has expected that homegoers would not experience traffic congestion on highways during their journey ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
“There is pressure of vehicles on roads but there will be no traffic congestion,” he told reporters on Saturday.
The minister virtually inaugurated a railway overpass, seven road overpasses, and a bridge on the Tangail-Rangpur Highway from his secretariat office in Dhaka. He also opened the second toll plaza at Meghna Bridge on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway.
When asked about the traffic gridlock in Dhaka, he said there is no gridlock in the capital now and there will not be any since the city streets have taken an empty look.
