
The Coast Guard has seized 30,000 pieces of yaba and one kg of crystal meth (ice) worth about Tk 65 million at Teknaf

Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Rafid-As-Sami gave this information on Tuesday afternoon.
The press release said, based on secret information, at 1:00 am on Tuesday, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Teknaf in the Keruntali canal adjacent area under Teknaf police station, Cox’s Bazar. During the operation, a suspect was seen climbing a hill with a sack. At that time, when the suspect was signaled to stop by the Coast Guard operation team, he ignored the signal and fled into the deep hills.
Later, upon searching the area, 30,000 pieces of yaba and 1 kg of crystal meth (ice) worth approximately 65 million taka were seized. As the drug trafficker sensed the presence of the Coast Guard and fled, no one could be arrested.
Legal procedures regarding the seized drugs are currently underway.
To prevent drug trafficking, the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future, the press release added.
