
Teen hacked dead over motorbike money transaction

A teenager was hacked to death allegedly by his friend at Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat district on Tuesday.
Police have recovered the body of the victim Fahim Farhad, 16, stuffed in a sack, from a ditch at Ruhaninagar Kanteshwarpara area in the upazila on Thursday, two days after he went missing.
Fahim was an eighth grader of Usman Gani High School and a resident of Araji Deodoba area in the upazila.
According to the victim's family members, Fahim went missing after going out to hangout with friends on June 4 (Tuesday).
Later, the family members filed a complaint with Aditmari Police Station and following the case police detained the accused Madhu Roy, 17, of the same area.
During questioning, he confessed to his crime and said that an altercation erupted between the victim and him over consuming hemp and a money transaction of a motorbike, said police sources.
After the altercation, they consumed another round of hemp in an empty space where Madhu attacked Fahim with a sharp weapon and hacked Fahim on his neck and head, leaving him dead on the spot, he said.
Eventually, he stuffed the body of the victim in a sack and threw it in the ditch, said the accused Madhu.
Following his confessional statement, police recovered the body from the dicth and seized a sharp machete from his house.
Aditmari Police Station sub-inspector Faruque Hossain said the legal procedures are being taken in this regard.
