TCB starts countrywide sale of essential goods

Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) today started selling of essential commodities through trucks in all 64 districts to ensure benefits for low-income groups.

In Tangail, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, TCB has started selling daily necessities to the low-income people in the district at subsidized prices.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Al Mamun inaugurated the program at the Shaheed Smriti Porudyan at 11 am today.

Upazila Executive Officer Nahida Akhter along with dealers and senior administration officials were present at the time.

Two liters of oil, one kilogram of chickpeas, two kilograms of lentils and one kilogram of sugar are being sold to each person at five points in the district town at a package price of Taka 450.

Two thousand families of the district town will get these products at affordable prices every day. The program will run from March 5 to March 28.

In Chandpur, TCB products are being sold in mobile trucks at different points. For the first time, TCB products have been sold in mobile trucks in Chandpur municipality without cards on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Mohsin Uddin inaugurated the programme in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Later, he supervised the sales activities of TCB products at the Notun Bazar Municipal Auditorium and the Old Bazar Loharpool area of the district town.

The district administration informed that initially, TCB products will be sold to 2,000 families every day at 5 places throughout the month of Ramadan.

The deputy commissioner said the government has taken this initiative so that low-income people can easily purchase daily necessities during the month of Ramadan.

In Lakshmipur, TCB products are being sold at different places in the district at subsidized prices.

Deputy Commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarkar inaugurated the TCB product sales program on Godown Road in Lakshmipur Municipality this morning.

The common people are happy to get these products at fair price.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) JP Dewan, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Jamshed Alam Rana and Sadar Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Abhi Das were present at the time.

TCB products are being sold at five places including Dalal Bazar, Dakshin Hamsadi, Uttar Hamsadi and Charruhita. However, the common people are happy to purchase TCB products at low prices.

In Rangamati, the district administration started selling of TCB products at affordable prices to the low-income people.

In order to keep daily necessities within the purchasing power of the common people on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, TCB started selling products at five points in the district town.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah inaugurated the programme this morning.

Initially, TCB products are being sold -in the town's Reserve Market, Gitashram Colony area, Central Shahid Minar area, Shahid Abdul Ali Math, Anand Vihar area and Tabalchhari ADC Hill area.

At each point, 400 consumers will be able to purchase specified products without NID or TCB card.

In Natore, selling of TCB products started at affordable prices at five points in the district from today.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Rawshan Ali said that this program will continue for 19 working days till Eid.

Besides, TCB products are being sold others district across the country.
