Take steps to stop anarchy over fares during Eid journey

Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity (BJKS) has urged the government to take effective measures to stop anarchy over bus fares, harassment of homebound passengers, and road accidents during Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of Muslims.
Md Mozammel Haque Chowdhury, secretary general of the passengers’ welfare platform, came up with the call at a discussion held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital on Monday.
To ensure safe and smooth travel during Eid, the organisation demanded the government implement all the measures already undertaken by the ministries and departments concerned.
Besides, it also demanded to take steps to stop extortion and movement of unfit vehicles on roads.
