Sylhet Red Crescent volunteer rally sacrifice will take our dreams far: Health Adviser

Nurjahan Begum, advisor to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the interim government, said, "The sacrifice will take our dreams a long way. We have only taken charge a few months ago. To make this country corruption-free, we will have to make a vital and united effort. We have to dream and be determined to realize that dream. If we can prepare ourselves for our family, society and country, then we will be able to stand tall in the world."

She made the above remarks as the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized at the hall of MAG Osmani Medical College in Sylhet on Saturday (January 18) to mark the youth and volunteer rally, anti-drug oath-taking, blood donation program and handover of apheresis machines of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Sylhet Unit.

Mohammad Aminul Islam, Treasurer of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society presided over and under the guidance of Imam Zafar Sikder, Director of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Youth and Volunteers Department, Ambassador (Senior Secretary) Mushfiqul Fazal Ansari delivered a special guest speech. At the time, he said, "We are who we are. We have to come out of the culture of name. The previous fascist government carried out unlimited repression on the opposition. The students and the public were able to unite and expel them. Because of this, The Economic Bangladesh is recognized as the best country in the world. He also said, "The fascists have been defeated and have engaged in conspiracy. Everyone must work as a vanguard so that they cannot destroy our unity in exchange for anything."

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Management Board members Mohammad Tuhin Farabi and Nurul Islam Saju were present as special guests. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Secretary General Dr. Kabir Md. Ashraf Alam ndc delivered the welcome speech.
At the beginning of the program, senior youth member Majed Ahmed Chowdhury recited from the Holy Quran and Sumit Adhikari recited the Gita.

Among others, Red Crescent Sylhet Unit Profit Officer Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, officers and employees of all institutions under the unit, youth and volunteers, and prominent leaders of various political, social and cultural organizations were present.

Nakshi Bengla Foundation distributed winter clothes in Sylhet

The suffering of the helpless poor people knows no bounds during the winter season. The voluntary organization Nakshi Bangla Foundation has come to the aid of these extremely poor and cold-stricken people. On Sunday (February 19) afternoon, winter clothes were distributed among the Vedic community residing in South Surma Upazila as part of a continuous programme of distributing winter clothes.

Eminent writer Mazharul Islam Joynal, General Secretary of the educational, literary, cultural and social service voluntary organization Nakshi Bangla Foundation, said, "Nakshi Bangla Foundation stands by the cold-stricken people as a humanitarian responsibility. We have distributed winter clothes among the cold-stricken people in different places of Sylhet. In continuation of that, today, winter clothes are being distributed among the most neglected Bede community of the society. Nakshi Bangla Foundation is working for the helpless people and its humanitarian activities will continue in the future too, Insha Allah."

Jamaat stands by fire victims in Sylhet

Jamaat's Central Executive Committee member and Sylhet Metropolitan Ameer Muhammad Fakhrul Islam said that calamities and disasters are tests from Allah. Therefore, it is the duty of believers to be patient in all situations. The affected families have faced huge losses as 11 shops and 2 houses were burnt to ashes in a terrible fire at Chadnighat in the city. It is difficult for them to recover from this loss. Jamaat wants to achieve the pleasure of Allah by doing good for humanity. Therefore, it stands by the people affected by any calamity. Through this, the affected families find some solace.

He said that in addition to government assistance, individual and institutional cooperation is needed for the rehabilitation of the families affected by the fire. Jamaat has stood by the affected families to the best of its ability.

He made the above remarks while providing sympathy and cash assistance to 11 shops and 2 families affected by the fire at Jhalopara adjacent to Chadnighat in Ward No. 26 of South Surma Police Station in Sylhet city on Sunday. Earlier, he visited the affected shops and houses and expressed sympathy to the affected people.

Maulana Mujibur Rahman, Ameer of South Surma Thana Jamaat in Sylhet metropolis, Maulana Faizul Islam Jagirdar, Ward 26 President SM Musa, Secretary Abdus Sobhan, Jhalopara Unit President Matab Ahmed, Bhartakhla West Unit President Jamil Ahmed, Bhartakhla East Unit President Abdul Malek Munna, Kadamtali North Unit President Akram Hossain, Jhalopara Unit Secretary Masum Ahmed, Business Unit Secretary Imran Ahmed, Bhartakhla East Unit Secretary Ekhlasur Rahman Sumon. Also present at the time were prominent parts traders Anhar Rashid Chowdhury, Emad Ahmed, Sahab Uddin and Maqbul Hossain and local businessmen also attend here.
