Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj

Students of Narayanganj Womens College have suspended classes and exams to protest the transfer order of their principal Abul Kalam Azad on Sunday noon.

Students gathered on the college premises, hung banners, and marched in protest against the transfer order, calling for it to be revoked. They also organized a demonstration in the college field, carrying banners.

The students said, Our principal is an excellent teacher who has significantly improved the quality of education here. His transfer order must be withdrawn. For this, we have declared protests on February 16 and 17. Principal Abul Kalam Azad commented, I have been here for six months and noticed some gaps that needed attention. I worked to address these issues right away. For example, the broken boundary wall is being repaired with a project worth 3 million Taka, and work will begin soon.

We introduced a system where SMS notifications are sent to parents if students skip classes, ensuring accountability. These are some of the changes I have implemented since arriving here.

He added, I respect government orders and will comply with the transfer decision. I wish the college continued success and hope its students play a vital role in building the nation.

Addressing the students, the principal said, "You should attend classes on time, focus on learning, build your lives, fulfill your families' dreams, and serve your country. I stronglyi dscourage you from participating in activities that violate government regulations or orders. Your rightful place is in the classroom, and that is where you should remain.
