Dhaka University has decided to admit students under the player quota in the undergraduate program from the academic year 2022-2023.

Upgradation of sports in Dhaka University, producing quality players and national and students will be admitted under player quota with the aim of producing skilled athletes to participate in international level sports competitions.

With Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman in the chair held at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, Treasurer Professor Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed, Registrar, Deans of various faculties, Chairman of various departments, Directors of various institutes and related officials were present on Tuesday.

According to the decision of the meeting, the candidates who want to take admission should apply to the head of the concerned admission test unit with the necessary certificates between Wednesday (July 5) 2023 and July 24, 2023. Candidates will be scrutinized directly through oral and practical examination by an expert committee and recommended for admission.

Applicants must be current players of the national team. Also, candidates should have experience of participating in National/International competitions as a member of National Team, National 'A' Team and Age-wise U-23/20/19/17/16 Teams within the last three years and have experience in Athletics, Badminton, Table-Tennis, Swimming, Tennis, Chess. , Candidates who are between 1 to 5 according to national ranking in various sports competitions including Carom are also for admission.

Candidates seeking admission should be below 23 years of age on the last date of application and should have minimum educational qualification for admission in Dhaka University concerned unit wise.
