Student protest leaders urge immediate protection of religious sites

Asif Mahmud and Nahid Islam, two key leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement (ADSM), on Monday requested students and general people to immediately take steps for protecting and guarding religious sites in their respective areas.
In a statement, the two student leaders urged other students and general people to form small groups for ensuring the protection of sites holy to different religious groups.
In a facebook post, Hasnat Abdullah, another leader of ADSM, has urged people to avoid all forms of violence. “This is our country. It is our duty to protect the country’s resources,” Hasnat said in the post.
