
Stolen goods recovered from commercial ship in Bhatiari

Bangladesh Coast Guard recovered stolen goods worth about Tk 1 million from a commercial ship in Bhatiari, Chattogram on Saturday.
Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Harun-or-Rashid shared the information through a press release on the afternoon of Saturday,
According to the press release, based on secret information, a special operation was conducted by Coast Guard Station Bhatiari at 4 am on Saturday in the Tabaku Khal area under Bhatiari Union of Sitakunda Police Station in Chattogram. During the operation, a wooden boat was found moving suspiciously in the area. When the operation team signaled the boat to stop, all the thieves onboard abandoned the boat and quickly fled toward the shore.
Later, upon searching the boat, 840 liters of paint, 160 liters of lube oil, 187 kilograms of grease, and 300 meters of electric cable—worth approximately Tk 1,016,000—were recovered.
The process of handing over the recovered stolen goods to the respective commercial ship and taking legal action regarding other evidence is underway.
To maintain the country's law and order, such operations by the Bangladesh Coast Guard will continue in the future.
