A 54-year-old dream for the residents of Gangail Union under Nandail Upazila is finally turning into reality, with the official initiative underway to construct a modern two-storey Union Parishad (UP) complex alongside a dedicated auditorium.
Confirming the development, Yasser Khan Chowdhury, Member of Parliament for Mymensingh-9 (Nandail) and State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, said that the long-cherished demand of the people of No. 5 Gangail Union is now being implemented to boost local civic administrative facilities.
According to official sources, a formal tender was floated on September 28 for the construction of the complex and auditorium, with an estimated budget of nearly Tk 4 crore. The selection of the project contractor will be finalized through a lottery scheduled for October 15.
The multi-purpose facility is slated for construction at its designated site in Biara village. State Minister Yaser Khan Chowdhury is expected to visit the location shortly to lay the foundation stone and formally launch the construction process.
Once completed, the new UP complex will streamline administrative operations, enhance citizen services, and provide a dedicated civic space for community gatherings in the upazila.
