State Minister of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mir Shahe Alam, said - all local elections including 5 city corporations will be completed within the current financial year. The current government is working on all these.

Later, the minister inaugurated a 7-storey building of the housing project for the people of the Harijan community of the municipality, took initiatives to construct a walkway at the Victoria High School playground and inspected a road construction work in the Mohajirabad area of the upazila. Earlier, he planted a rose jam tree sapling next to the Victoria High School playground.

The minister later visited the problem-ridden garbage dump of Srimangal Municipality and said that the BNP government, Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has sent me to Srimangal to see some special issues.
