Stalwart Shanto helps Tigers post target of 268 for Pakistan

A brave effort from skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto has left Bangladesh defending a target of 268 against Pakistan on the final day of the first Test in Mirpur.
With about 75 overs left in the day, the Tigers declared, giving both sides a chance to find a result on Tuesday.
Shanto (86) and Mushfiqur Rahim (22) started the day at the crease, but it was a back-and-forth affair from the off.
With time running out in the rain-curtailed match, both sides took a more aggressive approach. As the batsmen sought the boundary, the bowlers exploited mistakes.
Mushfiqur ended up holing out after trying to take Hasan Ali over the top, Litton struck a boundary before being caught at fine leg off a delivery from Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shanto was caught in front of the stumps while attempting a reverse sweep.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (24) hit several big shots before a ball from Noman Ali caught the outside edge of his bat fell into the waiting hands of a fielder at slip.
The dismissal of Taskin Ahmed in the 71st over prompted the Tigers to declare and chase the game.
Hasan Ali (3-52) and Noman (3-76) ended with the best figures among the Pakistani bowling attack.
