Srabani Sharma sings Ekushey song 'Bangla Vhasha, Janmvhasha'

On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, an original song titled 'Bangla Vhasha, Janmvhasha' is being released in the voice of reputed and popular singer Srabani Sharma Biswas.

The lyrics of the song are written by Ekushey Padak-winning poet Al Mujahidi. The tune and music are arranged by Fahim Hasan Shahed.

Regarding this song, Sraboni Sharma Biswas told the English daily The Country Today that 'The joy, emotion and love I have for my mother tongue have been expressed in this song. The melodic song will appeal to listeners of all ages.

Srabani's father Nitya Gopal Biswas used to sing various types of songs including Rabindra Sangeet and Gana Sangeet as he was involved with the Udichi Shilpi Gosthi. She started singing with her father and her mother Namita Biswas was a musically inclined and culturally minded person. Sraboni grew up in an atmosphere of culture in her childhood. Srabani Sharma, a listed artist of Bangladesh Betar and television, has completed a course on Rabindra Sangeet from 'Chhayanaut'.

At that time, she studied classical music for eight years from Ustad Sanjeev. After that, she completed her Masters in Rabindra Sangeet from Rabindra Bharati University. Srabani said that a modern song will be released in her voice soon. Besides, work on a Rabindra Sangeet album is underway.
