Special committee on on DU campus begins activities

A special committee comprising with eminent personalities on the nature and form of political practice on Dhaka University campus has begun its activities.
The first meeting of the committee was held on Saturday at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban meeting room.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Admin ) Prof Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha were present at the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by the convener of the committee, retired Justice Md. Abdul Matin, Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, and the members of the committee were Dr. Z.N. Tahmida Begum, former Chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission and retired Professor of the Department of Botany, Dhaka University, Dr. Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque, Chairman of Bangla Academy and retired Professor of the Department of Bangla, Dhaka University, and Professor of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dhaka University. SM Shamim Reza participated.
The meeting decided to set up a suggestion box and open a special email to discuss, exchange views and receive suggestions from key stakeholders on various issues including DUCSU elections, student politics in residential halls, and development of teacher-student interrelationships.
As per the decision of the meeting, this special committee will provide necessary suggestions and recommendations to the Dhaka University authorities on the nature and form of politics on campus through discussions and exchange of views with all stakeholders including general students of the university, alumni, prominent citizens of the country, journalists, former leaders of DUCSU, and guardians.
