The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Jeshore arrested Ramim Islam (23) in the brutal murder of his father by his drug-addicted son in Chaugachha, Jashore . At the same time, the chapati used in the murder has also been recovered.

The PBI said that Shariful Islam (41), a resident of Patibila village in Chaugachha upazila, was sleeping in his own house on the morning of March 7. At that time, his wife woke up and went out to prepare for sehri, when his son Ramim Islam entered the house and hacked his father to death with a chapati and fled. Shariful was rescued and taken to the hospital, where the doctor declared him dead.

Immediately after the murder, the PBI Jessore started a shadow investigation. With the help of information technology, Ramim's location was identified and he was arrested on the afternoon of June 20 from Thakurbari Tech in Bhulta area of Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj. Later, the chapati was recovered from the Mathpara area of his house as shown by him.

During the initial interrogation, Ramim admitted that he had a conflict with his father for not giving him money for drug use. Even after marriage, he used to regularly ask his father for money without doing any work. His father Shariful Islam often scolded and beat him over these. At one stage, they were separated. Out of anger, he planned the murder and attacked as planned.

When Ramim Islam was presented before the Chaugachha Amli Court on June 21, he gave a confessional statement to the judge.

It is mentioned that when the deceased's wife Hasina Khatun filed a murder case with Chaugachha Police Station as the plaintiff, the PBI Jessore was given the responsibility of investigating the case.
