Solar panel installation pledged at Madhupur Upazila Health Complex by ICT Minister

In a bid to resolve the lingering power crisis disrupting medical services at the Madhupur Upazila Health Complex, a high-capacity solar panel system will be installed at the facility. To ensure unhindered healthcare delivery for ordinary patients in the interim, the operational expenses for the hospital's standby generator will be covered through personal funds until the solar network becomes operational.
The announcements were made by the local Member of Parliament and Minister for Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology, and Science & Technology, Faqir Mahbub Anam, during his official visit of Madhupur Upazila Health Complex on Friday afternoon.
"No administrative irregularities or institutional negligence will be tolerated across health service delivery points," the minister asserted during his visit.
The Minister reiterated that the government is working untiringly to deliver advanced healthcare facilities directly to the citizens' doorsteps. To realize this goal, all necessary structural and financial interventions will be mobilized to upgrade regional healthcare assets into modern, citizen-friendly institutions.
During the meeting, hospital executives briefed the minister on the massive regional load handled by the center. Apart from serving Madhupur, Dhanbari, and Gopalpur sub-districts, the hospital acts as a critical medical hub for patients arriving from adjacent Muktagacha in Mymensingh, Sarishabari in Jamalpur, and Ghatail upazila.
The hospital management highlighted that although the facility was officially upgraded from a 50-bed center to a 100-bed hospital in 2020, the revenue-sector organogram has not been adjusted to create the necessary sanctioned posts.
To facilitate smooth and full-fledged operations as a 100-bed unit, the hospital administration submitted a formal charter of demands.
The ministerial inspection team included UNO Mirza Md. Zubair Hossain, Member of the BNP National Executive Committee Advocate Shamsuzzaman Suruj, Upazila BNP President Zakir Hossain Sarkar, General Secretary Nasir Uddin, OC of Madhupur Thana A.K.M. Fazlul Haque, BNP leader Zainal Abedin Khan Bablu, Upazila BNP Vice President M. Ratan Haidar, and RMO of the hospital, Dr. Sajib Kanti Pal, along with senior nursing staff and administrative officials.
