Under the initiative of Social Islami Bank Sylhet branch, winter clothing blankets were distributed among about 450 underprivileged people in five villages and two Hafezi Orphanages in the remote areas of Companyganj in Sylhet district.

The winter clothes were distributed on Tuesday (January 16) afternoon at Companyganj Kathalbari Government Primary School. Md. Fazlur Rahman, SVP and Regional Head of Sylhet Region of Social Islami Bank Plc was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Sylhet Branch Branch Manager and SAVP Mohammad Ashraful Huda, Operation Manager and SPO Md Minhaj Uddin, SPO Salah Uddin Ahmad and Officer Imran Hossain and other dignitaries of the area including Companyganj Upazila Awami League Joint General Secretary and Sylhet District Awami League member Jahangir Alam were present among others.

In the speech of the chief guest during the distribution of winter clothes, Md. Fazlur Rahman, SVP and regional head of Sylhet region of Social Islami Bank PLC said that apart from banking activities, Social Islami Bank is working in the service of the helpless, distressed and poor people of the society from social responsibility. He said that the poor and helpless people are part of this society and everyone should come forward from their own position for their welfare.

It should be noted that Social Islami Bank has been conducting various philanthropic activities in various districts of the country including Sylhet. In continuation of this, around 450 people of Kathalbari, Lombakandi, Dupariakandi, Shimultala shelter projects of Companyganj upazila have been distributed winter clothes.
