Sick Garments Assoc Narayanganj formed : Convenor Hira, Member Secretary Atiq

The owners of sick garments in the industrial area of Narayanganj have formed a new organisation called 'Sick Garments Association Narayanganj' on Saturday to present their plight to the government. The overall activities of the organization will be run under the purview of BKMEA.
A 14-member convening committee of the newly- formed organization has been formed to revive the ailing garment industry. Convener of the committee is Mahbubul Haque Hira (Millennium Knit), Senior Joint Convener Khandaker Haroon Or Rashid (Taha Knit Concern), Member Secretary Arman Hasan Atiq (Mars Knitwear), Member Abdul Khalek (Raja Knit) and Member Rafiur Rabbi (Sign Knitwear).
The committee members are Ilyach Sarkar of Dream Apparels, Hasan Mahmood of Rising Cotton, Salim Reza Panna of EC Fashion Wear Ltd, Md Kanchan of Mens Apparels, Feroze Ahmed of BR Fashion, Md Jasimuddin of AS Knitwears, Habibur Rahman of Unity Knitwears, Bay-Tshirt's Mostafizur Rahman and KMS's Md. Mizan.
The members of the committee said that we have lost everything and are sitting on the road today due to the influence of the influential leaders of the garment sector during the previous government. We are plagued with assault cases. We seek all-out help from the government to revive the ailing industry.
