Sherpur Correspondent

Official campaigning for the 12th National Assembly elections has ended on Friday (January 5) at 8 am. As such, that was the last day of the official campaign.

In the last period, the candidates of various constituencies are passing busy time in campaigning. However, Abdullahel Wares Naeem, independent candidate for Sherpur-3 (Shrivardi - Jhenaigati upazila) with truck symbol of Sherpur district and president of Jhenaigati upazila Awami League, broke all the records of the past and ended the official campaign by gathering the highest number of people.

Naeem has broken the history of 52 years this time with gathering of people in highest number . Common voters say that they have never seen such a large crowd in their lifetime. Everyone, regardless of party affiliation, has come to this rally supporting the Truck symbol candidate against the Boat candidate Shahidul .

At least 30,000 people attended the rally which started from afternoon and ended at 8:00 pm on the ground of Jhenaigati Pilot High School on Thursday.

Even though 52 years of independence have passed, no leader of this upazila has stepped foot in the national parliament from Jhenaigati, even though various political parties have come to power at different times. The hope of the people of Jhenaigati is that this time, Alhaj SM Abdullah Warez Naim from Jhenaigati-Srivardi will enter the national parliament by getting the majority of votes in the January 7 polls.

When we talked to several senior people who came to the rally, they said that Naim came to the election due to the demands of the people of Jhenigati, even though he did not get the nomination of the party as he was an open individual. Not only Awami League but also voters of other parties came to today's rally and supported him.

At the rally, it can be seen on the ground that at least several thousand BNP leaders and activists from Jhenaigati and Srivardi upazilas have attended the rally and supported the truck brand. They feel that they are now in trouble after being the victim of the assault case during the tenure of the former MP. If Truck Marka wins, at least they will avoid lawsuits.

Assembly sources said that most of the BNP and Jatiya Party activists and their general vote bank votes will fall in the Truck Marka of Srivardi and Jhenaigati. They will not vote for the boat after seeing the divisiveness of the boat candidate and the behavior of the Upazila Parishad chairman.

Abdullah Warez Naim may be elected from the assembly, he will make Jhenaigati municipality, privatize Shafiuddin College in Jhenaigati, open honors college for women in Jhenaigati, make two upazilas three tourist centers more attractive, discuss in parliament to protect border areas from Indian elephant attacks, private MP teachers He will talk about nationalization in the parliament, he made several promises including the expansion of road infrastructure development in the area.

According to the party sources, Srivardi Upazila A-League Joint General Secretary former Upazila Parishad Chairman A-League nominated candidate ADM Shahidul Islam repeatedly lobbied against the boat and brought the boat symbol. In 2003, while being involved in Chhatra League politics, he went against the boat and became the Chairman in the Khariakajirchar Union Parishad elections of Srivardi.

In the next election, he lost against the boat but won again against the boat in the third round of elections. After that, in 2019, the rebel chairman participated in the upazila council election and was elected as the upazila chairman. He was expelled from the party for repeatedly opposing the boat, but later returned to the party after lobbying and apologizing. Jhenigati Upazila Awami League President Abdullahel Warez Naim, who has gone against the boat again and again, is now taking the boat's rudder.

It is known that the number of voters in Sherpur three constituencies (Shrivardi-Jhinnaigati) is Srivardi upazila- 2,33,068 people and Ojhinigati upazila- 1,49,336 people. BNP's vote bank is located in this seat known as BNP's stronghold. And this time most of this vote bank will fall on the truck brand. Also a large section of the Jatiya Party has supported the truck brand. The majority of Awami League leaders and activists have their support centered on Abdullah Warez Naim. All in all, according to the calculations of general voters, Truck Marker's victory is certain.

Abdullah Wares Naeem, former President of Jhenaigati Upazila Krishak League, Saju, former president of Upazila Chhatra League, Farooq and Shamchul, former president of Upazila Chhatra League, spoke as special guests.
