Sheikh Mujib from Khoka of Tungipara

S D Subrata

A pious man named Borhan Uddin Sheikh came to live on the shores of Madhumati. About two and a half years ago. No one could know exactly where Borhan Uddin Sheikh came to the shores of Madhumati. And three or four men of Borhan Uddin Sheikh, the next man is Sheikh Kudrat Ullah. Kudrat Ullah's brother Sheikh Ekram Ullah. Khokars are descendants of both brothers. After the death of Kudrat Ullah Sheikh and Ekram Ullah Sheikh, the dominance of Sheikhs began to decline. But the aristocracy remained.

Khokar's grandfather Sheikh Abdul Majid. Grandfather Sheikh Abdul HamidKhoka's father once got a job in the court. He started running the family with that. Khoka was born on March 17, 1920 after elder sister Fatema and younger sister Achia. It was Chaitra month. Older sister Helena and younger sister Laili. The only younger brother of Sheikh Abu Naser. Khoka's house and grandfather's house were side by side. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was named by his grandfather at the time of Aqeeqah. His father called him Khoka.

Khoka was the third among four sisters and two brothers. In those days, parents lovingly named their eldest son Khoka. In school and college, everyone called him Mujeeb Bhai. The neighborhood called him Mia Bhai. After the father got up before the Fajr Azan, the daughter used to get up after hearing the Azan in the mosque next to the house. When the father came home, the child would sit with everyone in reciting the Qur'an. After reciting the Quran, he would run outside. Boy who loved nature. Bishan had great reluctance to eat and drink. Mother used to call him the sepai of palm leaves because of his body like bamboo.

The boy loved to find the bird's nest. He climbed the tree where the bird's nest was and saw the bird's nest, how many eggs were laid, how many eggs hatched. On the day when the chick learned to fly, he clapped his hands. At night, the chick would fall asleep holding his father's neck. Once the mother said about eating less of the child, who eats so little? Eating so little does not keep the body healthy. In response, Khoka was saying "Khay Amma, the boatman on the Madhumati bank next to Patgati market is my age. One day I saw Panta eating rice with only onion and pepper at noon.

The girl said, "Does anyone eat panta rice at noon? When Khoka's father decided to take Khoka to Gopalganj for better education, Khoka's mother was very distressed. Seeing the pain of her mother, the girl refused to go to Gopalganj. Later, she was persuaded after much explanation. In Gopalganj town, there are many relatives of Khokas by the big pond. On the right side, the houses surrounded by coconut trees provide accommodation for children. New chouchala tin houses are constructed. But the boy's mind is not satisfied.

The mind cries for the mother. The mind runs to Tungipara. Khoka joined the bratchari movement during the British rule. The Bratchari movement officially started in 1934 with Gurusday Dutta of Sylhet. The bratchari movement changed Khokar's mind a lot. When the father-in-law went home after the marriage of elder Buji, the girl did not go near because she could not hold back her tears. In 1934, Khoka, a seventh grade student, suddenly fell ill. He was diagnosed with Beriberi. Later he was taken to Calcutta to see a big doctor. The treatment lasted for two years. Due to his father's transfer, Khoka enrolled in Madaripur High School in seventh grade. The boy is sick again. The doctor saw Dr. advised Khoka to take him to Calcutta. Blurred vision. Glaucoma was diagnosed after taking Kolkata. Both eyes were operated.

When the anti-British movement was at its peak in Madaripur and Gopalganj, the boy used to listen to the discussions of Subhash Bose's party every day. The boy's blood warmed to hear the speech there. This news reached Khoka's father through SDO Saheb. Khoka's father was transferred to Gopalganj. Then Khoka was admitted to Gopalganj Mission School. Before that, he was admitted to Gopalganj High School. Once upon a time the bad condition of the Muslims came to the eyes of Khoka. Many Muslim boys could not attend school properly.

Then Khoka came forward to help poor Muslim students by collecting fistfuls of rice on Hamid master's advice. Khokar was in the habit of reading newspapers since childhood. Dad used to keep Anand Bazar, Azad, Masik Mohammadi and Sawagat magazines. The boy played good football. The older boys obeyed his orders at the field age. He used to go to Chilmari, Molla haat sometimes with the football team. When Khoka was a ninth grader, Prime Minister Shere Bangla AK Fazlul Haque and Labor Minister Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy came to Gopalganj. Then the responsibility of forming the volunteer force fell on Khoka. After many ups and downs, Khoka was finally able to form the volunteer army due to his leadership.

On January 16, 1938, Sher Bangla AK Fazlul Haque and Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy came to Gopalganj. Finally went to visit the mission school. The boy stood in the way of the minister's way. He went in front of the minister and said, Honorable Minister, we have a demand from you. The minister was impressed by the courage of the school student and said, what is the demand? Khoka said, "Water falls through the broken roof of the hostel and the books and notebooks of the students get wet. The students suffer a lot."

The minister assured to look into the matter. The boy was not happy about it. He said that if the roof is not repaired immediately, he will not leave the road, whatever will happen." Everyone around Asha wanted to move the boy but could not. Finally Suhrawardy said to someone next to him, "Allow 1200/- from my discretionary fund." Everyone present. surprised. This boy is the father of our nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Suhrawardy called him and asked for his name and later sent a letter to Khoka. One time Khoka found this new life from this martyr Suhrawardy. Suhrawardy became his political mentor. Once Khoka's classmate Malek i.e. Abdul Malek was captured by the leaders of the Hindu Mahasabha. At that time, the number of Hindus in Gopalganj was high and the influence and prestige was also high. Upon hearing the news, Khoka took a team and rescued him.

That night, Hindu leaders filed a case against Khoka for attempted murder. When the dargah went to the house, many asked the boy to run away, but the boy did not run away. The boy threatened the dargah that day because of false threats. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest father of the Bengali nation in a thousand years, became the great hero of our independence, Khoka on the right side of Tungipara, Mia Bhai of the house and neighbors and Mujib Bhai of Calcutta.
