Sheikh Hasina’s birthday posters in front of Kalkini police station spark administrative concerns

The appearance of posters celebrating the 80th birthday of Awami League President and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in front of Kalkini Police Station and the UNO office has raised sharp criticism regarding administrative oversight in Madaripur.
Locals discovered the posters on Saturday morning across several key locations in the upazila, prompting widespread concern from local conscious circles over how political posters could be displayed in front of key government installations while the activities of the Bangladesh Awami League and its affiliates remain banned by the government.
Local sources claim the posters were put up under the leadership of former Kalkini Municipality mayor Enayet Hossain Howlader and Chhatra League member Md. Maruf Hossain ahead of Sheikh Hasina's birthday on September 28.
Residents questioned how the posters could be affixed in high-security zones with regular police presence without immediate action or oversight. Meanwhile, local BNP leaders alleged that the incident reflects administrative weakness, warning that unchecked political activities could impact the local law and order situation.
