Shahriar Kabir arrested

Writer and journalist Shahriar Kabir, a prominent figure associated with the Ekattorer Ghatak-Dalal Nirmul Committee, has been arrested - the latest in a series of actions following the fall of the Awami League government.
Police arrested him on Monday night from his residence in Dhaka’s Banani, according to Tejgaon Police Station chief Mohammad Mobarak Hossain.
Tejgaon OC said that there is a case against Shahriar Kabir, and he has been arrested in connection with that case. He will be presented before the court on Tuesday.
He formed the Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee in 1992. The committee is a pressure group founded to demand the trial of war criminals from the Bangladesh Liberation War.
