SEU remembers four martyrs of student movement

Southeast University (SEU) today organized a discussion and cultural event commemorating the university’s four students embraced martyrdom during the student-led mass uprising.
Land adviser AF Hassan Ariff was present as the chief guest on the occasion titled- “Building Tomorrow’s Bangladesh with the Spirit of Sacrifices”.
SEU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam presided over the function held at the university’s Multipurpose Hall.
The discussion was also addressed by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Sheikh Mahdi, Chairman of the SEU Board of Trustees Rezaul Karim, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Member Secretary Arif Sohel, coordinator Rifat Rashid and Jatiya Nagoric Committee member Syed Abdullah.
Family members of the martyrs were honored with mementos on behalf of the university.
Speakers remembered the sacrifices of those who contributed to the anti-authoritarian movement and emphasized building a future Bangladesh free from inequality, injustice and discrimination.
They urged the student community to remain vigilant to uphold justice and ensuring that the sacrifices of the martyrs do not go in vain.
The program was also attended by SEU Pro-VC Professor Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Dean of the School of Arts and Social Sciences Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, the registrar, treasurer, deans, Department Heads, faculty members and students.
The programme concluded with a vibrant cultural event presented by SEU’s cultural teams.
